Why it matters
You researched a decision across ChatGPT, Claude and Grok, and now you need a one-page brief for your team. Copying answers out of three tools and stitching them together takes an hour. Echoes already has the chats, so it writes the brief from them, section by section, and records which chat each point came from.
Step by step
- 1
Open a Space with chats in it
Click Spaces on the left rail and open the Space. Click Create artifact under Start chat in, or choose it from the Space's ⋮ menu.
- 2
Choose what to make
Pick Document (Word, Markdown or PDF), Presentation (PowerPoint with speaker notes) or Web page (one HTML page to share).
- 3
Say what it should be
Under What should it be?, pick a preset such as an executive report, meeting summary or status update, and edit its text if you like. Or choose Custom and write your own. Save as my prompt keeps it for next time.
- 4
Choose who writes it
Under Who writes it, pick Claude to use your own connected Claude account, or On this computer to use Echo AI privately on your machine. Each option shows how long it will take. One that can't run yet is greyed out and says what to do, such as Connect Claude.
- 5
Set the tone, length and chats
Choose a Tone (Formal, Neutral or Casual) and a Length. Short is 4 sections, or 6 slides for a deck. Under Chats, untick any chat you want left out. Include Space facts adds the Space's facts too.
- 6
Create it and watch it being written
Click Create document (or Create presentation, Create web page). Each section gets its own progress bar, and the preview fills in as sections finish. Stop keeps what's done. Keep working in the background closes the window and keeps going.
- 7
Edit and export
Click Artifacts on the left rail to see everything you've made. Open one to Edit or Regenerate any section, then export it: Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Web page (.html), Markdown (.md) or PDF.
Good to know
| Plan | Limit |
|---|---|
| Written by Claude | Uses your Claude account, no Echo AI queries |
| Written on this computer | 1 Echo AI query per step: 3 for a Short document |
- If you quit Echoes while an artifact is being written, it's kept. Open it from Artifacts and click Resume.
- On this computer, a Short document takes about 4 minutes. Claude writes it in one go.
- One artifact can draw on up to 15 chats from the Space.
- ChatGPT can't write artifacts yet. Your ChatGPT chats can still be in the Space and used as sources.
- Each Space lists the artifacts made from it, so you can find them from the Space too.
FAQ
Where do my chats go when Claude writes the artifact?
Echoes sends them to your own Claude account in a temporary chat and deletes that chat afterwards. With On this computer, nothing leaves your machine.
Can I use my notes as sources?
Not yet. An artifact is written from the Space's chats and, if you tick it, the Space's facts.
