Find your archived ChatGPT chats

Echoes syncs the chats you archived on ChatGPT. Click the archive-box button in the filter bar to show those chats on their own.

Why it matters

ChatGPT keeps archived chats in Settings → Data controls, with no search. If you archived a chat to tidy your sidebar and now need it, Echoes lists it with the rest and lets you search it.

Step by step

    Check archive sync for the account

    Open Settings → Accounts. Each ChatGPT account has an archive icon. It is on by default (tooltip Archive enabled). If the tooltip says Enable archive, click it.

    Show archived chats

    Click the archive-box button near the right of the filter bar (tooltip Show archived only). Click it again to go back. Typing archive:true in the search box does the same.

Good to know

  • ChatGPT is the one platform that reports archived chats, so the filter applies to ChatGPT accounts.
  • In the normal view, archived chats appear mixed in with your other chats.
  • Echoes doesn't archive chats. Archive or unarchive them on ChatGPT.
