Why it matters
A 90-message ChatGPT thread about your app's pricing contains the one line you need. Finding the chat is half the job. Echoes also takes you to the line, with ▲ and ▼ buttons to step through the other matches.
Step by step
- 1
Search, then preview the matches
Run a search. A green count appears on each result. Click it (tooltip Show N match previews) to expand the matching lines, with your words in green.
- 2
Open the chat
Click the result. Echoes opens the chat on its platform.
Ctrl+click (⌘+click on Mac) opens it in a new tab. - 3
Step through the highlights
Echoes marks each match in green and scrolls to the first. A small Echoes panel shows i / total with ▲ (Previous occurrence) and ▼ (Next occurrence), and how many times each word appears. Drag the panel aside if it covers the text.
Good to know
- In long chats, the platform may not have loaded older messages. The panel says how many matches are still hidden: scroll up to load them.
- Highlighting needs Keyword navigation search on, in Settings → Search. It is on by default.
- Preview Range in Settings → Search sets how many matching lines each result previews.
